Empowering Women in Cybersecurity: Join the CyberWomEn NSW Program

 

Are you a woman looking to make your mark in the exciting world of cybersecurity? The Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), in partnership with Akkodis, the Institute of Applied Technology - Digital (IAT-D), and Microsoft, is thrilled to introduce the CyberWomen NSW Program. This initiative is designed to bridge the gender gap in the cybersecurity industry and provide unparalleled opportunities for women to thrive in this dynamic field. 

 

Our Mission


The CyberWomen NSW Foundations Program aims to empower women by:

  • Supporting Aspiring IT/Cyber Professionals: For women currently studying IT/Cyber, we want to help you find employment and provide invaluable mentoring opportunities to kickstart your career.

  • Encouraging Career Transitions: If you're contemplating switching to a career in cybersecurity from a different field, we're here to guide you through the transition and help you thrive.

PROGRAM DETAILS

None!

This is a free program supported by AWSN, IAT-D, NSW Government, Microsoft and Akkodis.​

COMMITMENT

~10 - 20 hours per week

Micro-credentials: ~10 hours per week

Case study & career workshops: ~20 hours per week

DURATION

28 weeks consisting:

8 week bootcamp

2 x 8-week micro-credentials

4 weeks of career workshops & group case study project

DELIVERY

Hybrid: instructor-led sessions and self-paced learning
In-person: graduation event at the IAT-D, Meadowbank campus

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Identify as a woman​

  • NSW resident

  • Working rights in Australia

  • You must also fall into one of the categories below:

    • Recent Graduates: completed IT courses ranging from Cyber CertIV to various IT degrees, seeking to enhance their job prospects in the cybersecurity field; or

    • Career Changers: aged 25 and above, considering a transition into cybersecurity and want to explore if it's the right fit for them.
